The Falconry in the Cour d'Honneur of the castle

A favorite pastime of lords and nobility in the Middle Ages, falconry is often considered the oldest sport in history.

Ivan, the master falconer, will take you on a magical journey through its history, punctuated with humorous anecdotes!

In this historic setting, discover numerous species of birds of prey soaring freely, from majestic eagles to swift and agile falcons... as well as owls, hawks, buzzards, and vultures.

Spartacus, Montana, and all the others eagerly await you at the castle every day for a show full of discoveries!

Ivan the falconer

Ivan, a falconer with over 20 years of experience at the Bouillon Castle, presents a colorful spectacle featuring a wide variety of raptors. Discover falcons, vultures, bald eagles, barn owls, burrowing owls, African spotted eagle owls, and many more.

A playful show

You are very likely to be involved in the falconry show. Not being the right size to be pecked at, you might have the chance to bond with the falcons!

Schedule

The shows take place every day at 11:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 3:30 PM from February 18th to November 11th, 2024.

An additional performance is scheduled at 5:00 PM on weekends in April, May, June, September, and every day in July and August.

Duration and price

The show lasts an average of 30 minutes and is included in all Bouillon City Pass, Bouillon City Pass+, or group tickets with a guide.

Not allowed

Drones are strictly prohibited inside and around the castle. They can strongly disturb the well-being of the raptors and may even harm them.

Dogs are also not allowed in the castle to avoid any altercation with the raptors.

Cancellation conditions

For the well-being of the animals, some falconry performances may be canceled due to adverse weather conditions, such as strong wind gusts, heavy rains, heatwaves, etc. In such cases, the safety and comfort of the birds will always take precedence, and alternative arrangements or refunds may be offered to the visitors. Please understand that these measures are taken to ensure the welfare and health of the birds.
