Scriptura Museum at Bouillon Castle
An exciting exhibition in the former arsenal
The history of writing
from the Middle Ages to the present day
From goose quills to computers, from parchments to chalkboards, let yourself be captivated by the history of education, writing, and printing in the permanent exhibition 'Scriptura,' located in the hall of the former arsenal of the fortified castle.
The first part of the exhibition presents, in 27 educational panels, the school during the Middle Ages. You can also explore a classroom reconstituted as it was in the early 20th century.
The following section highlights the influence of printing, especially in Bouillon, during the 18th century.
The last part of the exhibition is dedicated to writing, where you can discover a magnificent collection of ancient inkwells.
